SoPost is on a mission to be the worlds best sampling platform and in trying to do that, we've got a lot of tech that needs managing.
Whether it's a Kubernetes cluster, MacBook Pro, firewall or plain old network cables, it all needs to be in tip-top operational shape. That's where you come in.
Based in the UK, you'll join the team either in Newcastle or Edinburgh (remote inside the UK is also an option for the right person) and help keep our operations running smooth.
An example of some of the things that you will be working on:
Here are some of the things you will not be working on:
Experience of Kubernetes and MacOS administration would be amazing, however, one of these two things is more than enough to get on with the work we have. We can upskill you in the area you are not 100% on.
This is primarily a role in which you will write a lot of code, so it is essential that you can write code. We use Python here, but it is Ok if you're currently using something else. As with MacOS administration or Kubernetes, we can get you up to speed.
All of these skills are entirely optional. If you have them great if you don't then that's fine.
You'll get 23 days holiday plus bank holidays a year. Once you have been here for three years, we'll give you an extra two days holiday allowance per year.
We keep a well-stocked fridge full of soft drinks, or if you prefer something more refined, we have delicious coffee beans and a great coffee machine. We engage in team activities once in a while, bringing everyone in the company together from all over the world.
You will also get some excellent tech to use. You can either choose between a non-retina iMac + 4K monitor or you can have a retina iMac. Once you are out of your probation, it is also customary to reward you with a lovely mechanical Cherry keyboard.
In our operations roles, once you have been here for at least twelve months, we would encourage employees to study for and attempt the SSCP or CCSP exams as part of your on-going professional development. We will cover your exam costs and study material costs.
We split the hiring process into five distinct parts. If you pass one stage, you will proceed to the next. We try to give feedback to you if your application is not successful but this is not always possible.
The process is designed to give you maximum insight into what it is like to work here and also for us to be able to assess your skills as quickly as possible.
